Passage Read: Acts 16-17
Meditation Verses: 17:24-27

Thought

Paul is not afraid to speak the truth, even if it's offensive to people. He is not offering an alternative religion that people can choose to believe or not, but telling them the truth about the universe, that it is God's creation, and He alone is God and alone worthy of worship. He gently but definitively rebukes all their ideas about God, even though it could enrage them. He wants them to know as much of the truth as possible, even if they only hear him this one time. And yet on the basis of this one message, though some ridicule him, there are others who believe and join him.

Application

Sharing the Gospel is not offering a certain point of view or one perspective on reality. It is telling people exactly what is true and real. Belief in God is not optional, neither is it subjective. I don't have to make apologies for who God is and what He requires of us. We are not the arbiters of Truth, but the creatures who owe God all glory and honor. I can and should have confidence proclaiming Christ and God's demand that all worship and obey Him.
