Thought

Jesus doesn't come up with His own thoughts and wisdom, but He only says what His Father has commanded Him to say. The Father's command is eternal life, so He is careful to speak just as the Father has instructed Him. As many ideas and thoughts that I might have and think they're good, as many thoughts or ideas I may hear and think that they're good, only the commands and Words that come from God are good and right and eternal life. He alone sets the standard by which all men are judged and to which all men are expected to attain. Only His words count for anything, because He is the judge of all!

Application

As many clever or good ideas as there may be out in the world, only God's really have value. I need to build my life on His Word, believe what He says and obey it. If I repeat good ideas and clever sayings and helpful instructions, they should all be God's, not men's. Only God knows what is real and true, because He made all things and knows all things, so I need to know them well, for they are eternal life, and I need to repeat them accurately, that I would truly be a help to those who listen.
