Passage Read: 2 Peter 2-3
Meditation Verse: 2:8

Thought

He doesn't say what Lot did in response to the torment of his soul, but Peter acknowledges that he was tormented daily by the lawless deeds of the men around him. I live in an age where the deeds of Sodom are again manifested and encouraged. Is my soul tormented by the things I see and hear? Not so much. There are things that come up that I know are wrong and I don't like them, but can I say I am tormented by them? Not really. In that case, Lot is more righteous them me, who wonders why such a righteous man would choose to gradually move into the city. I can't look down on him, because I too choose to live in Sodom, but my soul isn't tormented!

Application

I need a reset, so that the evil deeds I hear about or see displayed almost daily begin to torment my soul. Lot was a stranger who moved into Sodom; I was born here. His soul was untouched by these evil deeds until he moved near to Sodom; mine was raised in this environment. I need to become disgusted by these lawless deeds, and tormented by them.
