Thought
Whatever we do for a believer in need, we do to Jesus. We're supposed to care for each other like family and long-lost relatives. Though we don't know a believer, we should help out as we're able. But especially those we know, we should be willing to help and encourage and assist as best we can.
Application
This is where the rubber meets the road. Is my love only talk and well wishes? Or do I step up and meet real needs? If I love my life and my stuff too much that I want to protect them from even other believers, there is a problem. Better not to love my stuff too much or my life too much. Better to be eager to share what I have with brothers or sisters in need.
