Passage Read: Psalm 23-26
Meditation Verses: 26:1-3

Thought

David is so bold to pray this way, so confident in his love of the Lord and desire to please Him. He invites the Lord to test and try his heart and mind. He is blameless before the Lord because he has put the Lord's love ever before him. He is not just trying to keep rules, though that is the result. He believes the Lord is so good and righteous and glorious that he can't help but love Him and delight in His ways. He is careful to avoid wicked men and hypocrites. Instead he spends time with the Lord, praising Him loudly and telling of His wonderful deeds. There's a lot of insight here, for anyone who wants to lead a righteous life.

Application

How I view God will impact how well I walk in His ways. The more I see Him as glorious and worthy of all my love, the more gladly I'll walk in His ways. The more time I spend hanging around liars and hypocrites and the wicked, the less I'll love the Lord and want to walk in His ways. The company I keep affects my view of the Lord and His commands. If I understand all the good things He has done for me, and praise Him for it continually, then I'll have greater love for Him and a greater delight to do His will.
