Passage Read: Revelation 11-12
Meditation Verse: 11:18

Thought

The Lord will reward all the prophets and saints and all those who feared Him, whether small or great. He will reward them when He finishes His judgment on those who destroy the earth. That in itself is an interesting note: It seems like unbelievers are more concerned about saving the earth than are believers, but they analyze the problem incorrectly. They think it's because of this or that pollutant, which surely play a part, but the real problem is sin! The Lord is judging mankind through the natural environment, just as He did Israel long ago. Israel was once a land flowing with milk and honey, and now it is a desert because the Lord judged them for their sin and disobedience. Today the Gospel has gone out into almost all the world, yet men still choose sin over obedience, and so God strikes the environment to warn us, but we blame anything else but our own immorality.

Application

This would be an interesting message to share with others. Could I become as famous as Greta by sharing my plea for repentance in order to save the earth? Most likely not. I'd be laughed at and ridiculed, and that matters too much to me. The Lord is turning us over to our own sin and its consequences. We're destroying the earth by our sin, not by our emissions, except as they are an expression of our rebellion and self will. I need to throw caution to the wind and speak as God has spoken, no matter what men say of me.
