Passage Read: Ecclesiastes 7-10
Meditation Verse: 7:9

Thought

It is not good to be quick to anger, because many times anger comes without a full understanding of what is happening. A fool gets angry at everything because anger resides in his heart. It's always there, just waiting to burst out. But a wise man learns that not everything is as it seems, so it is better to find out the truth of a matter before responding to it. He also understands the nature of man and the sovereignty of God in all things. God has a hand in everything, so it is important to seek to understand what He is intending, and to hold trust in Him in the heart.

Application

Even if something should provoke me to anger, I shouldn't give vent to it until I am sure that what I thought happened did indeed happen. I can avoid a lot of embarrassment that way, and perhaps learn a few things about God.
