Thought

It's interesting that Nehemiah is concerned about God remembering his good works on behalf of the Lord and His people. He was truly concerned about honoring the Lord and making sure His people walked in His ways. He was very forceful, but not necessarily wrong. We could really use some stronger representatives of God. Bolder and more direct.

Application

I know the Lord will remember Nehemiah's efforts on behalf of the Lord and honor him. I want to grow bolder and more direct, but as graciously as possible. Yet the fear of being ungracious is the thing that keeps me silent. Nehemiah came on strong after everyone had agreed to live by God's commands, after they read and understood God's Word. I need to expect people to obey the Lord once they know what He requires and indicate agreement with it.
