Passage Read: Ephesians 1-2
Meditation Verses: 1:18-20

Thought

Paul prays that the eyes of the Ephesians' hearts may be enlightened so that they can see and understand three things: the hope to which God called them, the riches of God's glorious inheritance in the saints, and God's incomparably great power for those who believe, a power that raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at His right hand. I too need help, that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened so that I can understand and know the hope to which I've been called. That hope is so much more than just going to heaven, there's so much more to it than I can fully grasp without God's help. So too is God's inheritance in the saints; I don't understand what is great about that at all; God Himself is so much greater than all of us put together! What does He get out of us? And then there's His power, which I don't even come close to comprehending. But I want to.

Application

May God help me to understand and appreciate and be blown away by these three things. I can only imagine how greatly it will change my life, how I live and what I live for. May He also do the same for all those I love and care about.
