Notes from Mark's personal Bible reading and meditation

With a goal to apply one truth from each day's reading to my life that day

Passage Read: Mark 3-4 Meditation Verse: 4:37 Thought A great storm came up on the sea, such that even the fishermen among them feared for their lives. But when they woke Jesus and He calmed the storm, He rebuked them for their lack of faith. What did He expect? He expected them to trust in the Lord who said they were to go to the other side. He expected them to trust in the Lord who still had work to do and would not perish until that work was done. They should have no fear of death as long as He was with them.

Passage Read: Mark 1-2 Meditation Verse: 2:27 Thought The Sabbath was made for the benefit of man, not for his harm, not to bind him, but to free him. It was to be a day free from work, a day to rest, to stay home and relax and enjoy all that God has provided. Not a day to do evil, but a day to do good, to enjoy friends and neighbors and family. The scribes and scholars turned it into a burdensome thing. What God made for good, men distorted into something hard.
