Passage Read: Psalm 111-114
Meditation Verses: 111:7-8

Thought

Everything God does is truth and justice, because everything He does is based on His unchanging precepts and principles. God never changes, so the principles by which He operates never change. Their unchanging nature is what makes them truth and justice. And those principles require that they be exercised in truth and uprightness. Because they are truth and justice and uprightness, so operating by them can only produce truth and justice and uprightness. It is like circular reasoning, but better: The precepts produce only one kind of fruit. If someone claims to live by God's Word and walk in His ways, that person must walk in truth and justice and uprightness. Otherwise, he doesn't know what he's talking about. He's either a liar or misinformed.

Application

That goes for me too. God's Word is not a book of knowledge to be studied for merely intellectual benefit. It is meant to change the way I live. It is designed to produce truth and justice and uprightness in me as I learn the precepts through the commands and the testimonies of God's works. If my life is not showing forth ever greater truth and justice and uprightness, I'm missing the point of reading and studying this book. I'm supposed to do what it says, not merely memorize some key sentences to tell others at suitable times. And if I do what it says, I'll have good understanding, and all my works will also be truth and justice and uprightness.
