Passage Read: Psalm 148 - Proverbs 1
Meditation Verses: Psalm 149:6-9
Thought
It was Jesus' confidence in knowing where He came from and where He was returning to that allowed Him to humble Himself to serve us and endure all He did at the hands of godless men. That's what this passage shows us: This is our end: We will go forth praising the Lord with a double-edged sword in our hand, to carry out vengeance against all the nations that refused to believe our message, our pleading with them to be saved. We cared about them and wanted them to be saved, but they spurned our message, and worse, they spurned the Lord of all Creation. They deserve to die, and we who suffered ridicule and perhaps even death at their hands will carry out sentence against them! We came before them in weakness and humility, seeking to save their lives, and they cast us aside like garbage, but we will rise in power to bring their punishment on their own heads. This is the glory of the saints!
Application
This gives me confidence, if I will really believe it, to humble myself to proclaim the name of the Lord and call all men everywhere to repentance, faith and obedience to Jesus Christ! If I accept this as true, understanding that I too can be killed in weakness but will rise in power, then I have nothing left to fear here, nothing left to protect or preserve here. Though I plead with people in weakness now, I will judge the unrepentant in power then!May 15, 2025 Passage Read: Psalm 148 - Proverbs 1 Meditation Verses: Psalm 149:6-9
