Passage Read: Lamentations 5 - Ezekiel 3
Meditation Verses: Ezekiel 3:24-27
Thought
The Lord appears to Ezekiel multiple times, commissioning him as a watchman who must warn his people, but he keeps sending him home to wait! At least three times, God appears to him, tells him he must warn people, then sends him home to be silent. But when the Lord does open his mouth, he must speak. When the Lord did give him a message, he must speak it to the people! This seems so contrary, but it doubtless leaves a heavy impression on Ezekiel, so that when the Lord does send him a message for the people, he does not hesitate to tell them.
Application
I feel like there are things I need to say to my people, but I don't know what it is. It's not clear to me yet. I want to warn them, I want to bring them back to the truth, but either there is so much that needs saying or I just haven't had it distilled to me yet. I feel compelled to say something but I don't know what to say. Perhaps the Lord is preparing me, but has not yet given me a message. I don't need to rush, but I do need to listen. I need to trust that though the Lord may be giving me a heavy responsibility, He will also give me the words when it's time.
