Thought
The Lord is not impressed with fasting or feasting, but with justice and kindness and compassion, and with consideration for the poor and needy, and with thoughts and plans for good to one another. If we practice injustice and plot evil against others and take advantage of the weak, He is not pleased, no matter how much we deprive ourselves or celebrate Him. He is not impressed with rites and rituals or with masses and worship services, if we're not also treating one another with the kind of love He desires.
Application
God is more concerned with how I live day to day, than with what I do once or twice a week in a place called by His name. Treating others with kindness and consideration, as He defines, is greater worship of the Lord than fasting or singing songs to the Lord. I need to watch how I walk today, being kind to others because I'm conscious of God and how He wants me to live.
