Passage Read: Revelation 7-8
Meditation Verse: 7:14

Thought

These came through the great tribulation in faithfulness to Jesus. They survived, they washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. They did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death for Christ. They were able to endure and make it through because they decided early on that nothing was more important than knowing and trusting Jesus. No matter how the wicked of the earth tested and tried them, they remained faithful to Jesus. Whether physical violence, loss of possessions, loss of buying power, hatred, shame, whatever the world could throw at them, there was nothing on earth or in their lives so important to them that they would deny Jesus or disobey Him in order to keep or protect.

Application

That needs to be my attitude today. I need to be growing in that faith, loving nothing of this world, loving nothing of myself so much that I wouldn't be willing to give it up in a heartbeat when testing comes. Not house or cars or campers or clothes or food or people or reputation or dignity or rights or anything else. I need to practice regularly giving up all these things for Jesus.
