We live like this life is all there is. We have so many wants and wishes, dreams and desires. But God sent His One and Only Son, Jesus, to come to earth and die for us. To live His entire life to carry out the mission of His Father. Not to travel, not to see sights, not to excel at sports or a job, or just to make sufficient money to live a happy, comfortable life. God sent Him to die. For us. That's our God. Should we really believe and live like He intended Jesus to die for us so that we could live this life to the fullest, pursuing whatever we wanted in this world? Or is it more in line with God's character that He intended Jesus to die for us, so that we too would die to ourselves and live entirely for God's will? From Matthew 16:21-28.

A woman desperate for the healing of her daughter. Jesus calls her a dog in refusal! How would you respond if you were the mother? Would you be offended? Wouldn't we all? We labor so hard and so long to build up our self-esteem, but is that right? Is it wasted time or is it even more dangerous than that? Jesus seems not only unconcerned about our egos, but He seems to be set against them. Does He have a point? From Matthew 15:21-39.

There are many "seekers" out there, but not all are genuine. There are the scoffers, who tend to be pretty obvious. But there are also the "clean houses" who benefit from the power and coming of Christ, but have no real interest in knowing or following Him. In talking about them, Jesus explains why so many individuals, peoples and cultures have gone from lukewarm "Christian" to full-blown anti-Christian. A warning to our day. But then there are the seekers that Jesus gladly calls brother or sister or mother. Which are you? From Matthew 12:38-50.

It turns out, Jesus has some significant expectations for anyone who hears and sees who He is: He expects repentance! He denounces the cities where most of His miracles were done because they didn't repent. Those that heard about and saw His works but didn't repent will be condemned. How about us? How are we doing? We've seen much about who Jesus is: Are we repenting and learning to walk in His ways? That's what He expects! From Matthew 11:20-30.

What do you look to for your assurance of salvation? Depending on your faith? Depending on God's promises? What does saving faith in God's promises look like? Three miracles challenge us to test and see whether we're "dead" or "alive" in the eyes of God. From Matthew 9:18-31.

After warning everyone that only those who hear and put into practice His teachings are truly saved, Jesus comes down the mountain with the crowd following. Are they eager to learn more about how they should live or just hoping for a show? Jesus does wonders, and illustrates saving faith. From Matthew 8:1-17.

Is salvation simply a matter of praying a prayer? Passing a confirmation class? Or is there more to it? Where do we find assurance of salvation? How do we know we are saved? What does it mean to really believe in Jesus? Jesus tells us. From Matthew 7:13-29.

We know we needed the Gospel in order to be saved from the penalty of sin, but was that all God intended when He sent His Son to die and rise again? Was there more to His purposes than just paying for our sins and promising us eternity with Him? From Hebrews 8:8-14 and other key passages.

This is God's Creation. All that He has made is subject to Him and obligated to know and obey Him. He created all things in perfection and made Man lord under Him over all the earth and everything in it. Man was never permitted to do as he pleased, but was expected and required to live by God's way of life. Perfection, holiness, righteousness, these all mean to walk in God's ways. Anything else is imperfection, corruption, wickedness, because it is not what God Himself would do; it is not how God would act.
