Passage Read: Isaiah 3-6
Meditation Verse: 6:13

Thought

The remnant, the holy seed of Israel and Judah will be just a tenth part, like a tithe of the people. Though they be as numerous as the sand on the seashore or like the stars in number, yet only a tenth part will be saved. How frightening to think that such might be the same for those who call themselves Christian! Yet there are so many who think they believe in Jesus, yet want nothing to do with the Jesus described by the Scriptures. They're happy to believe in a Jesus who promises them heaven without asking a thing from them, no repentance, no obedience, no caring for what He cares for unless it is something they themselves originally wanted.

Application

Is it really only a tenth of all believers who will be saved, who genuinely care about the Lord and humble themselves to do His will? It often seems that way. There seem to be far more "Christians" who meet for fellowship than there are those who genuinely desire to read and know His heart and understand His ways so that they can do them. Only a tenth being saved seems dramatic, but maybe not. To know Him is to fear Him and be in awe that He would call those friends who diligently seek to know and understand Him, so as to do His will accurately.
