Passage Read: Song of Solomon 7 - Isaiah 2
Meditation Verse: Isaiah 2:3

Thought

This is what God intends, this is what He plans, that His ways and His laws are taught throughout the land and all people walk in His ways. So why don't we do that now? Indeed, we should be diligently studying His Word to know His ways so that we can walk correctly in them. We shouldn't be studying the ways of men, how to live, how to make use of this life, what to live for and how to obtain it. We should be studying God's Word to know Him, His purpose in giving us life and what He wants us to do with our days and how He wants us to live our lives. We should be preparing for the day that He rules in Jerusalem, when He will teach His law and require all men everywhere to do it. Indeed, if we know it well on the day He sets up His kingdom, we'll be like the Levites who kept themselves clean and pure, ready to teach and carry out His law when Judah repented and returned to the Lord. We'll be ready to step up and serve in His kingdom from the first day.

Application

When Jesus returns, He will set up His kingdom and proclaim the Lord's law. He will need judges and teachers to go for Him into all the lands, to teach the people and judge them by His law. The more diligently I study His Word and practice it, the more ready I'll be to step up and receive an appointment from Him as judge or law-giver, governor or sheriff of some province or people or town. If I want to be ready for that day, either to receive such an appointment or just to be ready to live under His rule, I need to be doing so now. All He wrote in the Scriptures needs to be the instruction for how I live now, already as a citizen of His kingdom.
