Passage Read: Isaiah 59-62
Meditation Verses: 59:14-16

Thought

There was no righteousness, no justice, no truth in the land. Indeed, the three stayed away from the land and the people. They were not welcome and they stayed back, because the people wanted nothing to do with them. And it was evil in the Lord's sight. He was appalled that there was no one speaking up for justice and righteousness and truth. No one was interceding on their behalf, that the people might hear and know something was wrong, that these three were missing. So He stepped up and went to battle for righteousness and truth. It is an appalling thing when men cast off true righteousness and justice, when they refuse to listen to and learn truth. The Lord sees and when sufficiently provoked, He will rise up and fight for justice and righteousness.

Application

Though no one listens, there still needs to be those who stand up for truth and righteousness and justice. If no one speaks up, it is appalling to God, it is shocking if there is no one. And there are still many today who speak up for and defend God's truth, His Word and true righteousness and justice. But it seems that even among believers, their words are not heard because they're unwilling to hear. Truth and righteousness and justice are becoming more and more unwelcome even among those who should believe. No matter how discouraging that may be to me, I still need to speak up, and do so even more.
