Passage Read: Isaiah 63-66
Meditation Verse: 66:5

Thought

There are those who laugh at the Lord's Word and there are those who believe it and those who fear the Lord. Both dwell together in the Lord's presence. They are brothers, but they do not all fear the Lord the same. The Lord promises that those who tremble at His Word, who live to obey the Lord no matter how difficult God's command, these will enjoy His favor and receive His salvation. But those who mock the humble and obedient, who look on them with disdain, they will be put to shame, they will be left out, they will be cursed.

Application

It is not those who "believe in" the Lord who will be saved, but those who believe and obey the Lord, who listen carefully to His Word, who justify the Lord and His commands rather than themselves and their disobedience, it is these who will be saved and honored and glorified. I need to tremble at the Lord's Word, not sit in judgment on it, deciding what is to be obeyed and what is not. If the Lord has not overturned a command, then I must keep it. I'm not free to live however I desire, that is the behavior of those who will be rejected. I am called to tremble before the Lord and His Word, to be quick to obey.
