Passage Read: Isaiah 47-50

Thought
Again a blindness illustration: Those who walk in darkness, who cannot see, long for light. They will either accept the light of the Lord or create their own. Those who create their own, who decide for themselves what is the right way to live, or who listen to godless men for direction, they will end up rejected by the Lord and tormented forever. But those who choose to listen to the Lord and His appointed servants, they will understand correctly how to live. The only safe way through the darkness is to listen to and obey the Lord and the word He has sent through His servant.
Application
There are many people who think they know best how to navigate life, but the only ones I can truly trust and must obey are the Lord, His Son and all the messengers He has sent to record His will in the Bible. Anyone else, if their message does not line up well with what is recorded in Scripture, then it is risky to believe and obey them. If their teaching goes against what is recorded in Scripture, then for sure I need to ignore them. They'll only lead me away from the Lord and into eternal torment. The Lord is the only one who really knows what's true and right.
