Passage Read: Psalm 3-6
Meditation Verses: 6:8-10

Thought

The psalmist is hopeful, even confident that the Lord will hear his prayer and deliver him, especially when he's been grieving and weeping through the night. The Lord is inclined towards the humble, towards the weak, towards those who cast their lot completely with Him. There is definitely a difference in how I pray, whether I believe there is no hope but God or when I think there are other options. When I'm desperate, I pray more earnestly and with far more grief and helplessness. But when the matter isn't as important to me or as impossible, I'm much less diligent in prayer.

Application

The more I care about a problem, the more I will pray, and the more desperately I will pray. I need to care more about the things brought to me, and see God as the only real hope. Perhaps then I will receive more of His favor and receive more of what I ask for.
