Passage Read: Job 41 - Psalm 2
Meditation Verse: Job 41:11

Thought

Our arrogance is that we think God owes us something, when in truth we owe Him everything. There is nothing He owes us but what He binds Himself to provide. We are His, and we are required to give to Him anything He asks and everything He desires. We are His to do with as He pleases; we are nothing special, except what He makes of us. So if He wants to gain glory through us by our degradation, so be it. If He wants to gain glory through our exaltation, we'd better give it. Whether through suffering or comfort, we owe Him all honor and praise. We are not our own, never have been; we've always belonged to Him, to do with as He pleases. We who have believed in Christ are doubly His, bought a second time through Jesus' blood.

Application

I need to stop thinking like I am my own person. I don't have freedom to do whatever I want. I belong to God and owe Him whatever He desires. He is free to do with me whatever He wants. He is a good Father, but He doesn't think first of my wants, but of His. And what He desires most is that He be glorified by my obedience and honor, no matter my circumstances. I may not enjoy what He takes me through, but I have no right to complain. He is still God and I am His to do with as He pleases.
