Passage Read: 2 Samuel 14-17
Meditation Verses: 16:11-12
Thought
David's humility and faith are remarkable. He is willing to be cursed, because he knows his own sin has brought about these circumstances. He is willing to suffer whatever consequences the Lord determines for Him, trusting that if any consequences goes too far, the Lord may turn and have mercy on him, even repaying good to him for the cursing he received.
Application
My first reaction to people making fun of me or even cursing me, or trouble that comes into my life, shouldn't be to become defensive, but to accept that I too deserve judgment for the evil I've done. And if any cursing or hostility or trouble is truly beyond what I deserve, then I too can hope that the Lord will take note and repay kindness to me for the excessive grief I've endured.
