Thought

The Lord preserved David time and again, in small ways vindicating him. It would be some time before he cleared David's name and exalted him for all his righteous choices, all his goodness to Saul, Israel and the Lord. But the Lord did eventually vindicate David in the eyes of all Israel, making him king of the whole nation.

Application

I too can trust in the Lord to vindicate me for my faithful choices to live for and honor the Lord. He will one day publicly honor me for how I've lived for Him. All I have to do is be careful to walk in His ways and do good to those around me, to speak and act in accordance with His will. I may lose out on many things here, in this life, but in the end, it will be worth it, to be vindicated by the Lord.
