Thought

For now, Jesus puts up with those hostile to Him, who refuse to have Him reign over them. Christians are those who should accept His reign even now. We are supposed to be acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior, and walking in obedience to Him. If we are unwilling to walk in obedience to Him, then we were the same as those who refuse to accept His rule. And those who refuse to accept His rule, He will destroy when He comes! He is not going to be gentle with them any more.

Application

I too need to realize that there are those who refuse to have Jesus reign over them, but it is not my place to destroy them now. I like Jesus must put up with them for now, partly because I do not know for sure who will refuse Him to their death, and partly because that's the example Jesus left me. But I need to be clear that those who refuse Him will be condemned, and all need to be warned against refusing His rule, even today!
