Passage Read: Psalm 79-82
Meditation Verse: 81:8

Thought

God speaks in order to test us and prove to us whether we will listen or not. Will we do what He says or will we ignore it? Will we come and listen and say how good it is what God says, but still not do it? Or will we hear what He says and trust and believe Him and do what He says? We will know, He will testify for or against us. He will speak the truth, and we won't be able to refute Him. The evidence will be plain for all to see.

Application

I can't fool God, and I won't be able to fool the jury. Either I obey the Lord or I don't. Either I listen to Him and hold Him in high regard and hold His Word in high regard, so as to obey all He commands, or else I don't. Or else I think less of Him and I do some of what He says because I agree with it, but the rest I ignore because I don't think it matters or I think there's a better way. I don't want Him to testify against me! He has made provision for my forgiveness through the death of His Son, will I recognize His love and grace, and change my ways so as to listen to His voice in all He says? I must. It's only right. He deserves no less.
