Passage Read: Acts 22-23
Meditation Verse: 23:11
Thought
Paul didn't give much detail about Jesus Himself, other than that He had given him several instructions, though He was supposed to be dead. He shared about his conversion and that he was serving God with a clear conscience and was on trial only because of his hope in the resurrection. Yet Jesus affirms his attempts and considers them testimony about Him. And next he'll get to testify in Rome. So it seems Jesus considers testifying to include just describing our interaction with Him and describing our efforts to serve Him. They may not be direct claims about Jesus, but they illustrate that He lives and that He is worthy of all honor and obedience.
Application
I may not be able to explain the Gospel as fully we I might like, but even communicating my belief in Him as alive and my determination to follow His instructions, these count as testifying for Him. That's encouraging to know, especially in this day and age when it seems few people have time for much of a conversation, and those I start to speak with often want to hear nothing more. Not unlike the Jews ready to kill Paul!
