Passage Read: Song of Solomon 7 - Isaiah 2
Meditation Verse: Isaiah 2:22

Thought

The pride of man will be humbled and abased. It will be overthrown, so that the Lord alone will be exalted. Man is of the earth, and his life is in his nostrils, given by the Lord. He did not make himself. And though he makes mighty things and turns millions to worship and adore him, yet he is nothing. He will be overthrown, along with all his accomplishments. Nothing he does will stand against the Lord. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, even those who gave all their life and strength to oppose Him.

Application

So why should I fear any man? Any man can kill me, but the Lord can kill him! The Lord can withdraw the breath of life He gave man any time He wishes. Why am I afraid to confront men with this truth, with the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord and they owe all allegiance to Him? Why do I fear men at all? Because I love my life and my comforts and what people think of me a little too much. A lot too much. I'm not willing to be a fool for Christ. I'd rather let men perish in their sin and rebellion than be embarrassed, mocked and scorned for calling them to repent and believe in Jesus. God, help me repent, help me humble myself and abase my own pride!
