Thought
It is important to meditate daily on God's glorious splendor and His mighty works. God is always glorious and the mighty acts He has done remain forever. Meditating on them gives me reason to praise Him daily, no matter what my life at present looks like, because He and His deeds remain unchanged. And if I meditate daily on them, I do not forget them. But more than that, it helps me know Him better and grow in trust because in thinking daily about His greatness and His amazing deeds on behalf of all and on behalf of His people. I grow in confidence to trust Him and I am more clear who I am in relation to Him and how much greater He is than me and all men, and how much more worthy of trust and honor and obedience He is than anyone else.
Application
I need to spend time thinking about the greatness and majesty of God each day, and about the power and wisdom of His mighty deeds, like Creation or the Flood or the confusion of languages or giving Abraham a baby in his old age or delivering Israel from Egypt or becoming flesh or raising Jesus from the dead or any of the other countless miracles God has performed in history. I need the daily reminder of His greatness and of His power to do whatever He wants in my life and in the world.
