Thought
This is a great passage for a travel day like today. It is good to be reminded that the Lord watches over me and will be my help if trouble comes. He doesn't take breaks; He is always keeping watch and always aware not just of what is happening now, but what is coming up. He sees everything I can't anticipate, and He will guard my foot from slipping, and will carry me through any challenge.
Application
It's one thing to be reminded, it's another to believe and trust and rest in this truth. That's where I struggle. I have little peace in the process, until I reach the end of each gauntlet. Only then can I relax. But I need to trust fully in the Lord, through the whole process, from beginning to end. He is watching over me, and as I seek to be faithful to Him, I should be able to trust Him to make the way smooth. And if it's not smooth, I can trust that He will carry and guide me through each sideways challenge.
