Thought
Most people think the way to attain peace and security is to work heard to collect things that will make you feel secure. But Jehoshaphat sent his officials and the priests to teach the Law of the Lord throughout the land, and the Lord responded by causing all the nations around Israel to fear Him. Then they brought tribute to Jehoshaphat without him having to fight or defeat them. He was completely secure and easily so just by promoting the Law of God. God didn't just keep him safe, but exalted him and multiplied material blessing to him. He was held in high honor because he honored the Lord by calling all his people to fear Him and walk in His ways.
Application
It isn't even a path to greatness, though that is promised. God is so good and holy and righteous, that He deserves to have His Name and His ways proclaimed among the nations. He deserves to have people know about Him and about His holiness and about His power. He deserves to be made famous. That alone is enough reason for me to tell others about Him and to teach them about His ways.
