Passage Read: Psalm 11-14
Meditation Verses: 14:6-7
Thought
Evildoers, those who lie at all times, those who oppress them without fear of God, they frustrate the plans of the poor. The poor seek to free themselves of debt, they seek to get ahead, but at every turn, there is someone else who hates them and takes advantage of them. They cannot succeed for the wicked who trap them. There are so many ways and so many different people that the wicked hate. They hate the righteous, because it shows them to be evil. They hate the poor because they are so easy to control. They only think of themselves and doing their evil deeds.
Application
The only hope of deliverance is the Lord, and He may do something while we yet live, but for sure He will do something for us when we depart this life. Our true hope is entering His eternal kingdom, where only righteousness and justice dwell. There the wicked are no more. There the poor can get free. There the righteous will rule. How long before we see God's judgment on the wicked? It make take my lifetime, but when I depart this earth, I will be free. I only have to endure that long at most. We are in the last days, and things are supposed to go from bad to worse, so I don't know if I can hope for relief before the end of my days here.
