The last five months serving Lafayette Salem Evangelical Church have been both a great encouragement and a great challenge. Preparing faithful and meaningful messages each week, training the brothers and sisters in personal devotions, praying for the body and serving in practical ways as needs arise.

Settling In

Seven-year-old Lucy presses her eyes shut as if to help her remember. She slowly repeats the theme verse for Children’s Church: "Oh Lord my God, you are very great!" (Psalm 102:1) I smile and shout, “You got it!” There’s nothing more delightful than to hear God’s praise from the mouths of children! Lucy, from one of two young families in our church, has a sweet love for Jesus and it’s been a blessing teaching her and her brother, though her family doesn’t come every week.

Perfect Provision

As you know, our 2022 contained unexpected twists and turns. Caribbean Mountain Academy, the school in the Dominican Republic we began serving in January, closed its doors. We relocated to the US in late August. Our hearts are full with God's love poured out from above and around us as we've settled back into Stateside life. He has been so gracious in His protection and provision as we've navigated unknowns. Particularly in providing a dear widow friend who welcomed us into her home in October. Thank you for your encouragement and prayers.

Twenty-seven years serving China and other parts of Asia. A year serving missionaries in the Dominican Republic. The highs and lows, even the very low lows. You've stood by us through it all!
